Re: Ripping HD-DVD

Sony AW-Q170A is an 18x DVD burner, not a HD-DVD drive.

Are you sure you want to rip HD-DVD and not a regular DVD? This Sony drive will not be able to see HD-DVD if you put it in the Sony AW-Q170A.

To rip a HD-DVD movie/media, you will need to acquire a HD-DVD capable drive such as LG GGW-H10N, XBox HD-DVD or the to be released Toshiba slim drive.

Re: Ripping HD-DVD

As the post above said, you'll need a HD-DVD drive and you'll need AnyDVD HD to bypass the copy protection.

You dont need a burner for ripping dvd, BD or HD-DVD.

Re: Ripping HD-DVD

But he'll at least need a HD-DVD or Blu-Ray ROM drive though.
