| Removing part of audio from avi file Hi there guys  I have an avi file, which is in english language but there is a second audio stream in another language in it, short of a translation, but without removing the original stream, meaning you can still listen to people talking english in the background. Is there any way i can remove the 2nd language stream, even if i degrade a bit the original english language stream? If yes, what would i need in terms of software? Thanx

| Re: Removing part of audio from avi file Try to open the avi with virtualdub or virtualdubmod; if there are two separate audio streams, you can disable the one you want to remove, and then save again the new file. Remember to select "direct stream copy" both for audio and video, or the entire video will be re-encoded (very long time, unnecessary and can degrade also video quality). If both languages are in the same audio stream, I think that is not possible to remove the second audio at all. |

| Re: Removing part of audio from avi file Its not 2 separate audio streams, i just refered to that so that i explain better what the problem is. btw is it possible to have 2 different audio streams in an avi file?

| Re: Removing part of audio from avi file Lets assume the avi had indeed 2 streams... Where exactly would you find it in VD that the corresponding avi has 2 streams?

| Re: Removing part of audio from avi file I'm not sure that virtualdub supports dual audio. I suggest to use virtualdubmod. In menu "Streams" select "Stream list". It will open a new window listing all streams in the avi video. In this example there is only one audio stream (right now I don't have available an avi with a dual audio to do a screenshot  ) |

| Re: Removing part of audio from avi file Yes, if the avi have two or more audio streams in that window you can see each stream. You can disable unwanted streams or also delete it at all. Or also add a new one (if you have it available). |
