Stop giving your business and paying for media, media players, download media sources, hardware and software that forces you into DRM, the consumer who has the most powerful vote, THE DOLLAR. IT IS your choice, say no to marketing, oligopolies, the sleeze that is slinking and sliding to control Art and Artists, lesson consumer choices and lesson quality!! |

| Re: Removing DRM from WMV ??? geg19, I have no doubt that you are correct about the product you mentioned. But, I think the posted link is incorrect. There is a very usefull forum that disusses the use of UNDRM and other streaming software like the old favorite Streambox. Click here for Streaming Forum I think capturing seems to work. I know somethings it cannot be avoided, but I still believe the best way to handle DRM is to give your business to organizations that DO NOT use DRM. AT least mention this to the vendor. For example, I have was going to look at audible.com and try some audio books. Then I see special player software, etc and I asked them about DRM. Yep, that's why the special player, etc. From my email they offered me some free books and discounts but I let them know that until the drop the DRM, I will not give them any business. Simple, not insulting and allowing me as a consumer to have some clout. I have found lots of other sites for that. Thanks, Jon |

| Re: Removing DRM from WMV ??? Speedshooter, I know I am replying to an old post of yours, and your first post. BUT ....you are my new hero. It really is very simple on how to be effective on getting change. Be a smart consumer. They need you, you don't need them. A small story from yesteryear. I remember when MS OFFice first came out for Windows. It has copy protection, like one of the competitors they were going after, Lotus. After some complaints and people stalling on the purchase of MS Office, Microsoft made a decision to srop copy protection on ALL of their software. The results were much happier customers and a enormous increase in sales. The big difference is that there isn't the competition in the commercial market place, the marketing dollars are enormous. Monopolies and Oligopolies destroy capitalism. Jon Quote:

| Re: Removing DRM from WMV ??? Let me begin by saying thanks and to convey my sincere appreciations to all the participants in this thread and to the moderators for allowing the thread. It was a challenge and I was not challenged for sometime, I did win, I was able to solve the puzzle. L33VaNcL33F was patient enough, kind enough and sweat enough to post the countless posts explaining the how to do it and it worked in the end for me.I have three WMV DVD disks that I purchased form Amazon and got them shipped here, Saudi Arabia. I got Philips HDTV plasma and wanted to see the WMD HD. I was able see T2EE when I got lucky and found US IP proxy, but that was long time ago. I did install fresh XP SP1/WM 9.00.2980 with right drmv2clt.dll and still no nothing. Then, I ran CheckDRM and behold. For the first time magic key screen did appear. For T2EE I had to use the supplied key in the thread since I was unable to get the right proxy. Thank you all again. |

| Re: Removing DRM from WMV ??? I know a way you can remove drm... you could link your computer to the tv, play the file full screen, use your dvd recorder to record the file, then rip the video from dvd onto your computer, then transcode back to wmv. Effort, but can be done |

| Re: Removing DRM from WMV ??? Hello all! I am new here. I just got myself interested in this removing DRM thing. I have Win2000 and WMP9. The .dll files I have say 9.0.0.2980. But the IndivBox key that I have is 10.0.0.3646. I hope it won't be too difficult for me since it's not WMP10 and I don't see that KB891122 update on my computer. About the files needed to remove DRM from WMV that are listed here... Well, I am not able to download those drmdbg versions from Rapidshare! However I did find an earlier version of drmdbg, drmdbg031 elsewhere. Drm2wmv seems easier to find. So I tried to work with what I could get. Okay. The result so far? Drmdbg031 doesn't seem to work. The SID just won't come out! On various forums some people talked about modifying the CRC codes etc in the drmdbg.ini file. It's very complicated. But I did mess with it and still doesn't work. Are these CRC codes really important? Is that because the version 031 is no good? Or my setting is not right? Will the newer versions 621, 1113 etc do the trick? What are your suggestions? Thank you! Also, is it possible that someone upload the newer drmdbg versions to some sites like yousendit, megaupload, and savefile? I would like to try if they work. Thanks in advance! H. ![]() |

| Re: Removing DRM from WMV ??? I too have been able to get this automate drm to work. I did a clean install of XP sp2, upgraded to WMP 10 and it works. EXCEPT, i think that winscript program wont let me install nero 7. Weird ey? but each time it gets an error while "generating script options for action".. and then tells me installation corruption. I've downloaded the install file twice and still the same error... I guess i can deal with just using the manual undrm, but how do i get rid of win script? |
