remove noise from a video

ok i got a few videos that have a high pitched whining noise in the background... just like that noise the tv makes when its on (i hope you know what i mean)

anyways its not THAT bad, but i would really prefer editing it out, im guessing eliminitating the really high frequency would help but i have no clue if this would do it and if it can be done

i registered at doom9.org's forum to post this question also... BUT you need to be registered for 5 days before you can post!?!?! gimmie a break

I know what sort of noise you mean, but I haven't found it on videos yet.

Anyhow, I would try the following:

Import the captured files in Adobe Premiere.
Export the audiotrack with Adobe Premiere to .wav. Open this with e.g. Cooledit and use a noise filter (or manually select to delete the extra-high frequencies). Save back as .wav and replace your original audio track in Premiere with the enhanced one.

Fixing audio problems in a video file is not a simple job. There is no magic program that will do it for you unfortunately.
