Problem with end of SVCD cd.

I just recently burned an iso image of a SVCD. It plays fine in my set top DVD player up untill the last few minutes of the movie. It starts to get real choppy then it freezes. Finally the player stops the movie. I have an Apex AD-1100W DVD player. I use a Lite-On 40125S to burn with. Nero is my software of choice. I think it's because of the limitation of my DVD player (it only cost me $64.95 at Circuit City), however I have burned an iso of a movie before and it played without any problems. Both movies were well over 800 mb's stuffed onto a 700 mb disc. Any Opinions?

Well one thing i can say for (almost) certain that your writer is not the problem. i 've burned a SVCD myself in my LTR40125s (firmware ZS0P) and had no problem playing it in my dvd-player

Loosing the movie near the end of it is very typical of burning at to high a speed. I have the same burner as you and do not (would not) go over 16x on quality media. Drop to 12x or even 8x if you use cheapies.

Nero is also not the best to burn SVCD's, form MPG files, but since you had cue.bin files then that should be okay. VCDEasy is always the best solution to burn VCD & SVCD from either MPG or Cue/Bin files.

@shuebhussain

I used chickenmans guide and the quality is perfect. I've personally never ripped and converted a dvd with such quality and the speed was half the time of what it usually took me to do it. thats using the same tools as what is stated in the guides (dvd to svcd/vcd using dvd2svcd). I think chickenman is a legend when it comes to movie conversions

I had this problem sometime back converting films and near the end of the movie, say the 1st cd, it would freeze or jump back a few mins. This was with the old DVDx 2.0. Then I took advice of Chickenman downloaded the DVD2SVCD plus the updates and saved his tutorial on me desktop and had a good read. Since then all problems have gone away, and I get great quality full screen movies 720 x 480/576

Greets for the Chickenman and his Tutorial
