In need of a free .FLV video format converter

Greetings fellow CD Freaks.
I was just curious if anyone knew of a free .FLV video format converter to maybe WMV or MPEG-4. I've been able to find a few that work well but only offer a trial that do half of the video. I have a .FLV download capturer, but now I'd like to try and convert them to put them on different portable devices. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you much in advance--

Here is the image file of the last link to download Super. They really need to overhaul that website.

This is at the bottom of the third page, as I told you in the pm.

Yeah, Super is great, but it took me about 20 min. to find the damned download. I kept going back and forth before I found the little link in the lower left corner of the 3rd page.

I feel ya. I scanned that damn site up and down, back and forth, and side to side many of times. The worst the part if that you KNOW it's right under your nose somewhere right in front of you. I finally had to give up before my blood pressure rose and I ended up harming my computer. lol

Re: In need of a free .FLV video format converter

I need help trying to convert some video files to work on my Zune. The program has a Zune output preset, but it keeps giving me an error. I've tried three different types: MPEG-4, WMA, and .FLV and all give me the same error. Any advice?

This with DirectShow unchecked:

"An ERROR has occurred while encoding. The most common possible reason causing error:

If you did not check "DirectShow Decode", you may try to check it on, as you may have a working ActiveX filter installed on your PC that could read the codecs of your input file.

Your input source file may not be a valid multimedia clip due to a damaged heaer, corrupted/segmented data or truncated file. Your input file may have unsupported codecs. Verify the structure and the used codecs of your input file by double clicking it, the Media Analysis Box opens to display its info, codecs, and other internal data.

There was an interruption of the encoding process due to Disk space, Slow PC, Ram drainage, CPU overload, or a simple use manual interruption."

And this with it checked:

"An ERROR has occured while encoding. The most common possible reasons causing error:

If you have checked "DirectShow Decode", Super was not able to open the corresponding DirectShow ActiveX filter to decode your input file. Uncheck "DirectShow Decode" and retry.

Your input source file may not be a valid multimedia clip due to a damged header, corrupted/segmented data or truncated file. Your inpuit file may have unsupported codecs. Apparantly it's not the DirectShow option, so it must be in the input file. I know the errors are pretty self-explanatory, but I can't seem to figure it out. I've read into it, so it's not like I'm asking questions without giving forth my own effort. Like I said, I've tried all three of the different formats, so I don't see why it would be the input format.

Re: In need of a free .FLV video format converter

Its not the imported file's format, but rather something corrupted/damaged in the file itself, or the codec used is not compatible. Trying to analyze it at long distance, that is my best guess, but it is just a guess. And that answer is basically echoing the error message and not adding any insight.

What are you using to capture the .flv files with? Did you check the codec using the Media Analysis box? Or you can use Gspot video utility to determine the codecs and specifications. Do the files play correctly in your media player?

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I usually work with mpeg2, sometimes xvid or divx. .flv is not in my normal repertoire.

Unless someone with more experience with .flv chips in on this thread, my best suggestion is to go to the forums at videohelp.com and ask some questions there. Or you can try t0nee1's suggestion of WinFF.
