Video Edit Software Discuss, Mpeg seek at International Chat: Software related forum; Hello everyone, I'm having trouble with mpeg file. Movie start normally, but when I tried to seek, it take ages to play from there. I watch whole movie without seeking, no problem. Can this be fixed? It is mpeg-1 file, Gspot says it is this codes MPEG1_Payload. Thanks

Mpeg seek

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble with mpeg file. Movie start normally, but when I tried to seek, it take ages to play from there. I watch whole movie without seeking, no problem. Can this be fixed? It is mpeg-1 file, Gspot says it is this codes MPEG1_Payload. Thanks in advice

That's kind of normal, depends on the "way" the file were created and encoded and also on your OS/sys specs and player used.

Transcode it to Divx/XviD if you need faster seeks.

You can use WinAVI to transcode, it's pretty easy.
