missing subtitles problems

I'm converting an avi with srt file to VCD using TMPGEnc and Vobsub

The avi video file plays fine, with subtitles, in Windows Media Player. I can open the srt file in Microsoft Word and view them.

After I have converted to VCD using TMPGEnc, some of the subtitles have disappeared. It's like every 2 minutes there are a few missing lines... i know, because i tried playing the mpg file together with the srt file, playing the hardsubbed mpg subtitle on bottom of video while the srt file plays on top of video for comparison...it really shows there are a lot of missing subtitles...I have 2 computers at home and it is the same case for both the computers. Maybe im doing something wrong. Can anybody give me an advice or suggestions on how I can solve this problem. Thank you.

Re: missing subtitles problems

Read the TMPGEnc helpÄ?
I think no.

The subs have to be included into the VOB/IFO files when converting to dvd compliant mpeg2.
TMPGEnc doesn't allow you to use subs, so try with another program.

Check the news info, Divx2DVD 2 can do that easily.
