Video Edit Software Discuss, merge file.... at International Chat: Software related forum; hello, anyone can help me, how to merge files (movie) movie.avi.001 to movie.avi.008, i have try to play all the files but only movie.avi.001 can play.anyone know why..?

Try with VirtualDub. Go to menu File --> Append and repeat to append all segments.

However, if all segments are not encoded with the same audio and video bitrate, the append function will not work and you must first re-encode each segment to make all parts encoded in the same way: a rather long and CPU-consuming work

You need a program like FFSJ (Fastest File Splitter & Joiner) from http://www.jaist.ac.jp/~hoangle/filesj/index.html to join those files together.

"Do you still use it?" arrr... only when I need to It works 10,00% quicker than using the old copy command like Copy /b movie.avi.001 + /b movie.avi.002 + ...... to join them.
