Have Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.

all photos are the same size, 640x480, have about 178 in the project, using DVD Builder to create a VCD for playing the cd on the dvd player and viewing the photos. have done this before, took a few tries but eventually figured it out, except this time!

as soon as i click on "burn" there is about a one minute pause while the program tells me it is "creating the image" and then the progress bars start filling up, and at about 50% in to the creating the image, the program crashes to the desk top.

what am i forgetting to do? do right? do wrong?

during numerous attempts to burn this, at first i would receive an error code: 0x80170015, and did numerous googles but no answer for this code/my problem.

i then took all photos to be used in the vcd and did a batch resize, making them all 640x480, and no longer received the error code, but program would crash to the desktop after about 50% completion of "creating the image."

In the past I've just created data CDs for the jpg photos & all the DVD players I've tried the discs on play a slideshow of the photos quite happily.

same thing happens, as soon as i launch to do a data disc the program crashes. so i remembered how i solved the problem with previous attempts, when a burn failed, and i discovered that one of my photos i had manipulated, and once i removed that one photo from the project, i was able to do a burn.

so i went through 176 photos, could not find any that i had manipulated, so that wasn't going to fix this problem.

the 176 photos are photos from throughout the year, the most recent in the project are christmas photos, and this is where the problem is, for whatever reason?

for example; my "burn" folder has sub-folders, each sub folder for a different photo shoot. i can put all the photos from "birthday" in the project and it will burn, as does "playday," "summer," "winterconcert," "santaphotos," but as soon as i add "christmas2005" to the project the problems start.

the christmas2005 photos have not been manipulated, they are straight download from the camera to the computer, just as most of the other photos are, yet i cannot do a burn with the christmasphotos in the project.

i am very "stymified"............???????

never had to do this before, but this is what i did to get it to burn all the photos.

i took all the photos and put them in one single folder, and then did a global rename to "2005" and they all burned!!!

previous burns i had various folders, the pictures in each folder had global names for that folder's name, and they all burned before.

only thing i can think of is one or more of the photos in the christmas folder some how were corrupt? i don't know, hate it when i solve a problem but don't know what the specific problem was, you know what i mean...but glad i got the burn done.
