LotR: RotK back-up problems

I am trying to backup LotR: RotK and am having problems. It will play on my Sanyo DVD player, but not on my Lite-On LDW-411 (FSOF). Win2K explorer tells me to "please insert a disk" and PowerDVD tells me "unspecified format". I am using AnyDVD. Any ideas?

What software are you using to compress the dvd to dvdr size and what burning program are you using? Also what brand/type of media are you using ?

Not sure of the s/w used to compress it. I have CloneDVD for backing up. I have Memorex 4X DVD-R from Taiwan.

There are numorous post here with people having problems with memorex -R 4x media, I'd suggest you try some better media. Ritek 4x are good for me.
