Lord of the Rings subtitles - where are they?.

Damn, just when I thought I had this ripping/encoding stuff under control - Thud! (Sound of me falling flat on face).

I installed the latest versions of DVD2svcd and VCDEasy and finally freed up enough space to do Lord of the Rings. Ripped with Smartripper, selected required subtitles (English and "others" which, based on my past experience, should have been the foreign language subs, in this case Elvish).
Went through DVD2svcd and set everything according to the tute, hit the go button and, 19 hours later had 3 discs but no bloody subs. .

I had complained in an earlier post that when subtitles are selected in DVD2svcd it stops and awaits confirmation before proceeding. Well, it doesn't stop in this version - at least mine didn't. I was watching it's progress and it indicated it had found the subs. required, but I'm wondering if it actually did anything with them.

Can anyone else please verify that the new version does indeed work ok with subs?

Sorry, should have clarified that - yep, downloaded it Friday afternoon, installed and used it Friday night, Saturday, Sunday. Did 3 movies, but only LOTR had subs. (or rather, should have had subs). The proggie seemed to work ok other than my subtitle problem.

And yes, I did select the subs. I wanted in Smartripper and enabled subtitle rip in DVD2svcd.

Suggest you then try using the internal ripper instead of SmartRipper. There may even be a bug ( or "feature") introduced in the latest build, but doubtful.

Thanks CM. I think I'll wait 'til I've got a shorter movie to try. I don't find the idea of another 19 plus hours particularly appealing.

Yeah, I'm working on it. I was happy with what I've got until I "discovered" ripping DVD's.
