| Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro Hi. I've got a problem when I try to import .avi files in Adobe Premiere Pro: when I try to watch the them in the monitor, I just see a black screen. I took those movies from a DVD, by ripping (with DVD Decripter) and encoding them (I used DGIndex, VirtualDubMod, and AviSynth 2.5). Here's all the information I've got about my files: - Size: 848 x 480 - 24.00 fps (It's a cartoon) - Typed this code for AviSynth: (There was interlacing) Telecide(order=1) Decimate(cycle=5, mode=3, threshold=1.0) AssumeFPS(24) LanczosResize(848,480) - I used Lagarith Lossless Codec - Don't know if the files are interlaced or progressive now that they are in .avi xD I'm really a newbie at this, so I hope I wrote enough information about my files. What sould I do? Thanks! |

| Re: Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro Use the originals and you will not have such problems, I'm sure.

| Re: Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro What do you mean by "the originals"? The .VOB files? Cause I can't use those in Adobe Premiere. I imported the .avs files in Premiere though, and it worked, but I think I lose quality (when I export) by doing this... Help plz ![]() |

| Re: Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro what version of Premiere? and what do you want your final output to be? DVD? avi? it seems like your resizing and deinterlacing before editing is not needed until your final "movie" is encoded.

| Re: Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro I'm gonna make a VCD with those videos, so I need .avi files. I think I'll just work with the .avs files in Premiere Pro and make the avis after the editing even if I lose some quality. And Chef, my files come from a DVD... Thanks a lot for your help =) |

| Re: Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro I guess what we don't understand, is why you increased the resolution from 720x480 (or 576 depending if NTSC or PAL) to 848x480. You should keep the video at it's native resolution, convert to lossless avi, edit, then export to low res vcd. There are ways to get Premiere to accept .vob files directly, but we need to know what version you are using.

| Re: Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro I did this, cause I followed a tutorial, since I'm a total noob at this , which said to change to resolution to 848x480 to get a widescreen movie instead of a 4:3 movie (NTSC and FILM). If that's not the right way to do this, what should I do? ^^' And I've got Adobe Premiere 7.0 (Premiere Pro 1.0) |

| Re: Importing problem with Adobe Premiere Pro You want to encode to 720 x 480. I'm not up on converting from 4:3 to 16:9, but I do know that there is a lot of information in the forums on doing that. You will just have to search. If you want to get into video, do a lot of reading and learning, before you even try to begin.. Trust me.. It is the best way..
