How to reduce size of video?

Hi.
I have several video files on my computer, wich are more than 700 megas (728, 769 something like these) that won't fit on a CD. Since I can't write DVD's and I'd really would like to get these files off my PC, I wonder if you guys know some program that can reduce the size of the videos to 700, so it would fit on a CD? Thanks

Re: How to reduce size of video?

Why not put it in a zip folder?

You could also e-mail them to someone who could burn a DVD for you (hope you don't have dial-up).

Re: How to reduce size of video?

Video files generally do not compress (by much). Spend $30 for a 160 GB HDD.

Is your burner a DVD writer? You could always burn several onto one disc.

Otherwise you can buy 800 MB CDs but I don't have any impression on whether they are as reliable as the standard capacity.

Overburning a 700 MB CD would be possible...

Re: How to reduce size of video?

My thought of putting them in a zip is that the current size is so close to the limit of a typical CD that zipping it might get it to fit.

Re: How to reduce size of video?

If these are AVI files, you can re-encode them using AuotGK so that they will fit on a CD.
