Help with video capture.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to video capture, wanting to transfer all my VHS to DVD.

I've now realised this is a very complex topic and need help.

I'm pretty savy with the PC and have built my last 2 machines, but this whole world of video is mind boggling to me.

Is there anywhere where i can get online tutorials, idiots guide to video capture or anything that might help me learn and understand more about this subject.

So far i have managed to capture VHS to the PC with Mpeg-2 files, but i'm not 100% impressed with the results. I would rather learn whats best now rather than wasting my time capturing like this only to find i could have got better results by doing something different.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Neil

Re: Help with video capture.

Look through some of the relevant capture guides at videohelp.com:

http://www.videohelp.com/capture

You may also want to do a search on their site and find some discussions on vhs to dvd conversions. It is a common subject and there may be a step by step guide on the site, I just didn't dig around long to find it.

Video capture in a pain in the ***, if you have a dvd recorder transfer everything onto a +RW disc then import the .vob files from the disc into the computer.
