Followed guide .... waited .... audio stops halfway!

Hi again .....

I followed chickenmans great guide (avi > dvd+r) and all seemed to working well .... woke up this morning & checked it was all there .....

I looked for the bbMPEG_video_01.mpg file but couldnt see it ... I got one called BBMPEG_muxed_file00 & played that ... all seemed fine until halfway (ish) when the sound just cut out totally until the end of the film.

The avi plays perfectly (ie. video & sound all the way through).

Hopefully this can be sorted out ....

Ty ... Ian

There should not be a bbMPEG_video_01.mpg file, only a bbMPEG_video_00.mpg file.

If the audio has stopped 1/2 way through, then DVD2SVCD has not been able to extract it fully. There is a problem in your AVI in the audio. Check the Extracted_audio_1.mpa file, does that play fully ? If so, manually convert it to AC3 with BeSweet. If not, then you need to try and extarct the audio using VirtualDUB. See the AVI to VCD Tute on how to do that.

ok ........ the file you mentioned plays all the way through no probs ......

The (what look like "important" files I got after all the encoding etc are:

bbmpeg_muxed_file00 (4.485 gb)
encoded_audio_1.mp2 (332mb)
extracted_audio_1 (mpeg) (42,555kb)
extracted_audio_1 (mpeg) (26,017kb)
pulldown_encoded_video_NTSC (mpv file) 4,261,831kb
encoded_video_cce_NTSC (mpv) 4,261,831kb

got besweet now ........ what then??

sorry to be a pain but your guide was & is the best I've come across ..... Ive seen something called Cucusoft too but I dont know what its like - Id rather stick with your way if its going to work!

Cheers

Ian

and finally .... besweet ........ opened it & it said it was a command-line programme & I can download GUI .... the site it suggests seems to just be a picture, not an actual download.

I know I know - Im thick as two short planks when it comes to this, but ..... lol

With BeSweet you need the GUI for it to use it easily. Try the doom9 download section http://www.doom9.org/software.htm

Hiya ..... right ..... I have now got the gui version of besweet & tried to follow your guide alongside it .....

I can get the input bit (the wav file) ok, but I cant seem to find out how to change it to .ac3 in the output "line" ......... also, the mp2 (wav) file seems to be 332mb & when played, only seems to last 30 minutes or so .... is this wrong? I cant understand why, because the avi plays from start to finish with video & audio.

Also, my besweet gui looks slightly different to the one in your guide .... what is the ac3 machine bit top right? I have got BeSweetGUIv0.6b77 - Is that the wrong version?

Im so sorry to keep on but Ive got a few avi's & if I can sort one out then I hope the rest will follow!

Either that or I'll resort to buying Cucusoft "all-in-one-dunno-if-its any-good" software lol

Cheers

Ian

hi ian

sounds to me like you're just using BeSweet GUI and not AC3 machine... i did exactly the same thing! download it here the just install and open it and it should look exactly the same as in the tutorial (with AC3 Machine in the top right hand corner).

let us know if that works

cucusoft mpg-dvd

I have just bought Cucusoft's MPEG to DVD Burner version 2.01 ... in order to burn mpg/mpeg files directly without going through an intermediary.

IT DOES NOT WORK. The softaware is not fit for the purpose for which it was sold. You will waste your blank DVDs. Having spent nearly two weeks trying to get some sense out of their laughable 'support' department - hosted, it seems, by a bimbo called Kelly - they are refusing to reply to my problem, refusing to refund and generally being the most awful company with whom I have had the misfortune to deal.
