| Fastest encoding program (avi -> wmv) Hi, I want to encode some avi (Xvid) video into wmv videos. Currently I'm using TMPGEnc Express 3.0, it's really slow. My system is a Sempron 3100 (oc'd at 2.33ghz), 2gb of DDR ram (3200), (don't know if this matters) PNY nVidia 5500 agp video card. Right now, with noise reduction feature on, it takes 4-4.5hrs to encode a 25 minute avi video to wmv. Is there any program that can do this faster? Thanks. |

| Re: Fastest encoding program (avi -> wmv) This is normal for avi>wmv. Decompressing & new transcoding requires much power here, your CPU is not the fastest one...

| Re: Fastest encoding program (avi -> wmv) I have VirtualDub Mod, but I don't have a noise filter for it. The source video I have is not the best quality, the noise filter in TMPGE really cleans up the video a lot. Is there a good noise fileter plug-in for Vdub Mod? Thanks for the reply. |

| Re: Fastest encoding program (avi -> wmv) I tired it with Vegas Video with the MCVegas noise reduction, it's faster than TMPGE, but it's not as good quality. So I guess it really is TMPGE's (more advanced?) noise reduction filter that's slowing it down. Well, thanks for the help, looks like I'll just have to find at way to OC my cpu some more (I heard some people got it up to 2.5ghz, so I'll read up and give it a shot). |
