Exracting Audio track from .VOB files I have a recording (possibly made via analogue camera) which has been written to DVD with all associated files (ie .bup and .ifo). I would like to be able to produce a version with just the audio track so that I can write CDs for our members to listen to in the car rather than DVDs they have to watch at home (if they have a DVD player). Any suggestions please?

Re: Exracting Audio track from .VOB files Simply use one of a number of programs to demultiplex the files (separate into separate video and audio tracks). A good freeware program is projectx -http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ProjectX It is likely the audio file will be in MP2 or AC3 format. You will need to convert to wav format (a good freeware program is HeadAc3he download from http://mitglied.lycos.de/darkav/) You the simply burn the file to a CD using standard burning software e.g. Nero (your burning software may be able to convert the audio file to wav format).

Re: Exracting Audio track from .VOB files The fastest, free and best program to use to extract from VOB, that I know of, is VOBEDIT. vcdhelp.com is indeed a nice resource to find free goodies - you will then need to search for an "AC3 -> WAV" or whatever format the audio track is to convert to a WAV 16bit 44Khz uncompressed (which is used for CD Audio should you decide to burn an audio CD).

| Re: Exracting Audio track from .VOB files I'm gonna assume this is like a concert or one complete recording... Yet another method would be: 1. Rejig in IFO mode. Add the IFO (usually VTS_01_0.IFO), and uncheck all of the streams but the audio, and in the video Options pane select DeMux A/V... uncheck everything else and choose a DIR to save the output to. 2. Run HeadAC3he as described above to convert the audio to wav file 3. Load the 44,100 16 bit wav file into CDWav and set your splits at the song breaks, then save the .cue file 4. use Exact Audio Copy (or Nero , etc) to burn the CD using the .cue/.wav all of the above are freeware apps.

Re: Exracting Audio track from .VOB files I`ve used this mp3 extractor . A freeware by da way! I`ve done it with 2 and half hour U2 live concert in Boston. So know I can hear it in my Ipod
