Explanation needed please.

Hello CDFREAKS,
Could someone please explain the differences
between FFDSHOW and DIVX codecs. Another thing if both are
installed on one's system, what problems are you likely to encounter? Thanks.

an answer small just as my knowledge:
filters can just DEcode yourm movie, while full codecs can also ENcode.
i don't think there will be any problem having the both of them on the same system.....

i guess almost anybody can make things clearer

What ffdshow does is explained in here. They're both decodes videos but ffdshow allows you to have native MPEG4 support without installing any codecs. I had both installed at one time and never experienced any problems. And yes, without Divx codec installed you can't encode movies.
