Dvd-Rom Problem - Club CDFreaks

I have a problem with my dvd-rom and windows xp, i dont know what the brand it is because it came with the pc from compaq.
Before i had windows xp installed i had windows 98 running and the dvd worked fine but now it cant recognize dvds anymore. With normal cds and cdroms it works just fine but dvds not
Could anyone help me here to find a solution?

Find the name of the device in the System control panel. Then check the manufacturers website for the correct drivers. A winXP update will delete most old drivers.
