Video Edit Software Discuss, DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE at International Chat: Software related forum; I've recently been using these 2 apps and was wondering if any experienced users have any tips for a novice please? I mainly bought these to have better DVD-5 movies and to get my feet wet in encoding. What other uses are there? I have a 6600 C2D

DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE

I've recently been using these 2 apps and was wondering if any experienced users have any tips for a novice please?

I mainly bought these to have better DVD-5 movies and to get my feet wet in encoding. What other uses are there? I have a 6600 C2D with 2 gigs of G.Skill RAM and lots of HDD space.

Kerry56? Harley? Chicken Man? Anyone?

Should i have bought Nero 8

Re: DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE

Rebuilder has grown so much since I first started using it...I just haven't kept up with all the additional features. I pretty much use it in bog standard settings for ProCoder. I normally do main movie only, unless I'm backing up a tv series disk. For those I do a full backup to make sure the menus work properly.

Anything in particular that is a problem, or do you just want to tweak the settings? Are you using CCE Basic?

If you happen to have an Ipod, jdobbs has added a whole section for that type of mobile encoding. I haven't used it at all.

I do pop into the Rebuilder forum at doom9.org just to try and keep up with the changes, but haven't taken a hard look at the program in months.

And no, please don't be one of the beta testers for Nero 8!

Re: DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE

I don't have any experience with those apps, but I'm sure that they beat Nero. If you play around with them, and they will do what you want, they are good. I have not heard anything bad about either one of those. CCE is a very good encoder.

Re: DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE

I use HC, so I can't comment on CCE. Sorry.
Otherewise here are my fav setings:
Menu>Enable bitrate redist and check the use HC for redistributin pass; (if a series also enable apply to all VTS's).
Settings>Multiple encoding processes;enable menu encoding.
Setting>Setup>check languages you do not want to keep in both Audio to remove and Subtitles to remove and click the SAVE button for both.
I uncheck the 'Remove all DTS audio' and check the 'Run encoders minimized', then click OK.
Back to 'Mode": Sometimes I click on 'One Click Mode' or not depending on how big the extras and menus are. If I want to keep them but compress them more, I uncheck the One Click Mode and let DVDRB finish the prep stage, then I go into the editor and apply larger compression to them, and take the extra 'free space' and let the main movie have it. click save, the click on the 'ENCODE'' button.

Kindest REgards

Re: DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE

i usually just remove everything i dont want on the dvd with vobblanker, then let dvd rebuilder do its job...if the menu is really big (several hundred mb's) i usually convert it to still pictures. So i guess i dont really use any new features or special features lol

Re: DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE

To Whom It May Concern:

I received an email today for new version 1.26.5 Pro. The source installer is corrupt. I have downloaded it twice. I ended up just installing the updates instead of the .exe. I went to the forums but no one seems to have this problem so i just used my work around and it's fine so far.

Re: DVD Rebuilder Pro/CCE

Don't know what happened to your download Bob. Mine came through ok.

I usually just install the updates anyway, but like to keep the full install around for backup purposes if I need it.
