| Of course. The disc should at least contain 4485 MB. Otherwise you can't see if it's read till its end properly. Especially because crap media often is hardly readable out there.

Yes, but all in all according to these studies - format is at best as compatible as the + one, and usually less compatible. Hopefully this will spare us the posts with fanciful compatibility claims we had in the past (although for some reason I fear some people will still not be convinced...). |

| I won't be convinced unless we see compatibility numbers *for each media manufacturer separately*. Look over to doom9, and you'll see that some dvd-r media has at best something like 10%, while Mitsubishi and TDK media seems to work on almost every player (I think they have found one player which requires Mitsubishi dvd-r media to be recorded at 1x speed in order to playback) How can one give a compatibility number in general for dvd±r(w) if most players only play media from certain manufacturers? How does that make sense?
