Video Edit Software Discuss, DivX record at International Chat: Software related forum; Anyone got any advice if there is a video recording/editing shareware program that can record from Camcorder avi direct to DivX. I have Dr.DivX programme (Version Dr. DivX 2.0 OSS) which has a capture button, but this does not seem operative and programme can only do conversion.

Re: DivX record

There are some capture devices which will capture to mpeg4 (which is xvid), so I would guess that there is something that will do divx. Go to www.videohelp.com, look at the tools section, capture, and search for divx.

Re: DivX record

VirtualDub has a capture function but I've no devices that I can capture from so I can't say how well it works.

Re: DivX record

Capturing direct to DIVX might be an extremely CPU intensive operation. Depending on the size of the image, it could require a lot of power. Essentially you will be doing the capture and conversion at the same time.
