if i rip a dvd with flaskmpeg , the spoken language comes 1 second later than the movie .
is the problem with flask or could it be that i have a new motherboard because, with my old one i didn't have that problem

This issue has been know for more than one year now. FlaskMPEG simply is a bad program
But anyway, it's no big thing to correct the delay afterwards.

I was having the same roblem to, it has to do with the audio encoding.
I think you want to decode the audio and the video in one and the same time. Don't do this.
Just encode the video to divx and leave the audio as pcm (don't do anything with the audio)
Then take virtual dub and load the file and transform the audio to mp3 (or what you like).
Do not want to take the audio from 48.000 hz to 44.100 hz and put it to mp3 but take a apart step for this one

btw Flask isn't a bad program, you just have to understand it a little

A problem ive noticed that aswell with Flaskmpeg that the audio is cut for about 1 second.

I just use DVD2AVI to do all the work of Flaskmpeg now

Solve your problems and use Vidomi or Gordian Knot. I encourage DivX 3x or 4x as in my experiences ripping with DivX 5x I had nothing but audio sync lag.

I strongly disagree with you. DivX 5 is generally conceded to be superior to DivX 3 & 4, particulary in that it can provide equal quality with a smaller file size.

I don't know what you were doing to have the audio synch problem, but I don't know of anyone else that has had this problem with DivX 5. It is obviously some kind of error on your part.

Under the circumstances, I would not recommend that anyone use DivX 3 or 4 just because you are not using DivX 5 properly.

Your more than welcome to jump over to other forums and read thread after thread where people are having their troubles with DivX 5x and audio sync lag after final encode. Give it a try is all I can say but if your movie produces audio lag, don't say you've been warned. I've been burnin' DivX and SVCD for over a year and DivX 3x& 4x work flawlessy. DivX 5x is another story.

Please give me links to the DivX 5 audio synch problems. I have burned more DivX 5 discs with Gordian Knot than I care to admit and the audio is flawless.

The only time there is an audio sync problem with DivX 5 is when some nonstandard operation is done. This is not caused by DivX 5, and is easily fixed.

Go there for a start. ChickenMan (Cd-R Soft mod) answers countless questions about this matter. CM recommends DivX 5x as well I use Vidomi and have tested Gordian Knot using DivX 5x and I get nothing but troubles. I use what works, and thats DivX 3x or 4x m8. I prefer Vidomi over Gordian Knot but see the video quality after final encoding "equal" to Vidomi with the naked eye.

I went to that board and under the "DivX Problems" forum I selected the last 60 days of posts and found one complaint at the 60 day limit about DivX and audio synch at DVD to DivX audio sync or file size problem.

The synch problem in this thread happened with DivX 3, 4, or 5. It had nothing to do with any version of DivX, as I stated before. It was simply a case of an inexperienced user using the wrong procedures, and was easily corrected.

It's interesting that ChickenMan, the person that you respect for his knowledge, recommends DivX 5 as I do.

And why would you ever recommend the god-forsaken DivX 4 to anyone?

It is easy to get a better encode with Nandub, you can even use a generic profile for it, and get better results!

There is a 1-frame delay in DivX 5, and even then it is only with B-Frames on. Something anyone can live with (and most likely not even detect).

I think that the B-Frame one frame delay was effectively dealt with by the combination of DivX 5.02 and VirtualDub 1.4.10.

What works for you "might" not work for me and what works for me "might" not work for you.

This circular proposition gives no reason for you to discourage the use of software with which only you seem to have problems.

What works for me and everyone else that uses DivX 5 "will" work for you.

If you are interested, it would be easy enough to show you how to use DivX 5 properly so that your "audio synch problem" disappears.
