Video Edit Software Discuss, DivX - Is it Constant or Variable Bitrate Codec at International Chat: Software related forum; I've converted a few DVD movies to DivX in the past, but if I set the bit rate any lower that 1000kbps there seems to be a lot of pixel breakup when a high speed image appears! I'm presuming that all the movies I've converted so far

DivX - Is it Constant or Variable Bitrate Codec

I've converted a few DVD movies to DivX in the past, but if I set the bit rate any lower that 1000kbps there seems to be a lot of pixel breakup when a high speed image appears!

I'm presuming that all the movies I've converted so far are at a Constant Bit Rate (One pass)

How do you create Variable Bit Rate video. Is it possible with DivX?

Follow the guides in the subforums. Apps such as Vidomi or GordianKnot allow two-pass encoding using VBR.

VBR is the only way to DivX, use Nandub for 3.11 or VirtualDubMod for XviD.
