Conversion from DV to MPEG2 problem??? Hi Guys! I had some home shot video which I saved in my computer in DV AVI format at 25 FPS. Later I converted the same to MPEG-2 @ 6000 Bitrate & 25 FPS using CCE SP. The problem is that where the video runs absolutely smooth in AVI DV format, as soon as it is converted, it starts kind of skipping frames. What I mean here is, when I see the converted video, it is not smooth as the original. Whenever any object in the video moves, it gives a jerked kind of feeling. I tried to convert the video with a few other softwares like Ulead Video Studio, Windows Movie Maker etc, but all gives the same result. Now, why does this happen and what can I do to overcome this. Thank you.

Re: Conversion from DV to MPEG2 problem??? Are we talking about payback on the PC or after it's burned to DVD & on a standalone player? If the trouble in on the PC , what sort of spec PC do you have? Have you defragged the HDD recently & is the HDD running in Ultra DMA mode 5/6 correctly? You have to remember that once converted from an avi file that the bitrate is significantly higher so the amount of data being moved around is just so much more. Any deficiency in the PC , like slow graphics card , will become all too obvious.

Re: Conversion from DV to MPEG2 problem??? Here what I am talking about is a playback on the PC. As for my PC, its a Pentium IV 2.8 GHz. with 512 MB of RAM and my HDD is regularily Defragged. So I dont think this should be a problem. As such, I have other MPEG files that I downloaded from the net and they play quite fine.
