Video Edit Software Discuss, Compressing dvds to divx at International Chat: Software related forum; Hello all. Just wanted to ask if there was any way I could convert a bunch of dvds to divx, still keep the menus, and recombine them again to burn onto a dvd and have it playable on dvd players. I've never heard of doing this type of thing

Compressing dvds to divx

Hello all. Just wanted to ask if there was any way I could convert a bunch of dvds to divx, still keep the menus, and recombine them again to burn onto a dvd and have it playable on dvd players. I've never heard of doing this type of thing before, so I wanted to ask if it can be done. Basically I want to consolidate my series' discs (anime, etc...) onto one disc. Divx quality for some series is fine with me and having multiple discs on one dvd is a big plus. Can powerproducer 3 do something like this? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Compressing dvds to divx

I have played around with a few of these programs. I use autogordian knot to convert to divx. Works great. You can do like 8 movies at a time. Set it up & go to bed. Takes a while. Never played with the menu thing for divx, but remember reading about it. I think if your player dont support divx, you would have to get an mpeg2 encoder. The folks @ afterdawn.com are more into this than us. Lot of info there & @ doom9.com.

This is transcoding, not compressing.

Take a look at www.videohelp.com/convert
