Using C/Mans DivX to DVDR guide, the bitrate for the video has overshot the mark...its come out at 9800kbps. It is deffo set in DVD2SVCD at 9000kbps as max birate, first time this has happened as well.
Tmpeg DVD author has thrown a wobbly and is saying I'll end up with a non-standard DVD if I continue to author the film and may not play on my player.
The combined video and audio tops out at 10024kbps!

So...why has this happened?
But more important, should I continue and ignore the warning, after all, aren't those so-called "super-bit" DVD films higher than normal birate?

Or is there a quick way of reducing the video bitrate? I would assume there isn't

This is the first time this has happened, so it seems DVD2SVCD ignored the max bitrate setting of 9000kbps and could prolly happen again.

OK, I Ignored the warning in Tmpeg DVD author an went ahead. The film played fine on my PC under PowerDVD, but on my DVD player the sound was very scratchy and skipped about especially when music was playing. The actual video was spot-on.
Now, this could be a bad audio conversion, but doubt it as i tested the audio in "SoundForge" and it was spot on.

The bitrate warning is a known bug, just ignore it. whether the problem lies with DVD2SVCD or TMPGEnc DVD Author I Don't know.

the sound problem is nothing to do with the 'bitrate error'.. was the sound file .AC3? if not converting it to .AC3 might solve that problem as standalone DVD players have much better compatability with that than other formats.

As Eli said, its a problem with TMPGenc DVD Author. Your file WAS encoded at 9000 max, if your not sure just check the file with Bitrate Viewer, free from http://www.tecoltd.com/bitratev.htm

If you author using SpruceUp or Maestro you do not get that error !

Yeah...I used Maestro and it came out fine.
