Chef was not talking down to you! Video editing isn't something that you can just jump into. You need to do some research and studying. Would you try to rebuild an engine without any training? If you don't understand the terminology, and have a good basic understanding of what is involved, we might as well be speaking to you in a foreign language. I spent over 40 hours just reading, before I ever started asking questions. And my IQ is in the MENSA range. You can either spend hundreds of hours stumbling around and trying to get things to work, or you can spend about 30 or 40, doing good research, before jumping in. It's just good common sense.
