What to use to convert PC video files to DVD files?

Righto, I want to be able to convert DivX, Mpeg, avi and stuff like that to DVD files so I can watch them on my DVD player.

I'm a complete gypo so I don't want to pay for it (hey, DVD Shrink, DVD 43 and DVD Decrypter are great and have done me fine) - I don't want anything flashy or with great features - I want to do just that: PC video files to DVD files.

Can anyone help?

DVD2SVCD is a very decent free tool to do this and not as complicated as it might seem.

Have a look at the guides/tutorials in the Video Edit Software forum and also on videohelp.com. Bound to be plenty of guides for using free software.

There's always Nero's NeroVision which I guess most people have.

Hard to find one application that´ll do them all. If you have any specific format conversion problems, try googling...for example "mpeg to avi free software". There´s usually something available that will do it.

Ah, I would do DVD2SVCD if I didn't already have Nero Vision... which I've never used and forgot I have - I never really knew what exactly it was capable of, just that it came bundled as a job lot.

LOL, thanks man.

deanimator... yah, I've tried Googling but all I ever get is free trials with nag messages on the converted screen. But hey, it's sorted now - but thanks anyway.
