VirtualDub TV Recording

Hey, i downloaded the new VirtualDub lastnight and started messing around with it. I got it to work on my machine and got it to record. I have a AMD 1.4 Ghz, 368k DDRam and i am running XP. I have the ATI Radian 64DDram VIVO and a SoundBlaster Live OEM sound card. I was able to get Video and sound to record. But the sound really sounded bad, I tried messing with the settings but could not get one to sound good. I have the sound comming directly from my Satalite Box RCA cable into a converter cable so that the sound cable can go into my Mic-in on my soundcard. If anyone has used this before please help me and let me know what sound options are the best and what video options i should use, i have about 80 Gigs free for Videos so i think that i can make some pretty good recordings, thanks

Congratulations on getting that program to work... It's a jungle to me... Then I don't really know what to do with it...

Mic-in is a low level input used for microphones only. Inserting a normal audio line level connection will overload the input voltage capability and produce garbled, distorted sound.

Use a Line In or Auxiliary Input, which are designed for line level inputs.
