General Software Discuss, Special Mathematical Symbols at International Chat: Software related forum; Using win XP, i want to insert some mathematical symbols into a piece of work i have to do, but they dont seem to be there on character map. The one i am after is the mean average symbol, the stndard deviation symbol, the union symbol and a normal x

Special Mathematical Symbols

Using win XP, i want to insert some mathematical symbols into a piece of work i have to do, but they dont seem to be there on character map.

The one i am after is the mean average symbol, the stndard deviation symbol, the union symbol and a normal x but the slighly curly one.

In ms word you can get a lot of evil mathematical symbols through the equation editor. But if you're not in word i dunno.

im in excel ... but ill check that out

The MS equation editor seems pretty good - all i need is curly letters like a curly x and y - i suppose i just need to find the right font
