General Software Discuss, Running ISO/UDF with WMP at International Chat: Software related forum; Hi, I have two questions: 1. I want to run my ISO/UDF images directly from the hard drive using WMP version 10. I know it´s possible after mounting it in clonedrive, but I would like to play it directly from within wmp 10, listing it in the library.

Running ISO/UDF with WMP

Hi,
I have two questions:

1. I want to run my ISO/UDF images directly from the hard drive using WMP version 10. I know it´s possible after mounting it in clonedrive, but I would like to play it directly from within wmp 10, listing it in the library. Is there an add-in or work around for this? I am aware of VLC, that can do this, but since I want to use MCE I am stuck with WMP.

2. By opening the ISO file in WMP, the movie starts, but without sound. By double clicking the ISO file it mounts in clonedrive and starts in WMP, but I have not succeeded in listing the ISO file in the library of WMP 10 and play it simply by marking it and push the play button.

In short - I would like to have one file to play, listed in the library where I ave all my music and videos stored.

best regards,

micola

Re: Running ISO/UDF with WMP

if you want one file to show up in th elibrary then you need to convert it to AVI and you will lose quality. an ISO is not a media file which is why iit does not play directly in WMP nor does it list in your library. It's the image of a disc. if you extracted this image into files on your hard drive you'd be able to play them, but it would be a number of files inside a VIDEO_TS folder and not the single file that you're looking for.
