One Program To Bind Them All????

Okay!!!! I don't know where to post this: I've never posted anywhere before, but here it is hopefully someone can help me:

I've been burning movies for a while...and...I have to use so many programs (actually not that many) to burn my movies.

I just want to know if someone had the intelligence or the idea to create one program that does it all.

I get my movies in .avi, .vob, .iso, .img format...

NOW...is there one (1) program that does it all? That transcodes .avi files to .vob, reads .img, .iso and burns them to dvd....and simply burns .vob to dvd? Am I crazy for thinking of such a program? Does one exists? Why can't things be simpler?

Any feedback is extremely appreciated.....if any. THX

Re: One Program To Bind Them All????

The various parts of the Nero Burning Suite can do all this. And it does have the Start Smart interface which lets you choose what action you want to take.
But Nero gets a lot of flak simply because it has become so bloated----trying to do exactly what you are talking about. Ulead also makes a couple with similar features.

Individual programs are often better at their specialized tasks. Nero's encoding engine, for example, is simply not worth using. Not compared to any of the major encoders like CCE or ProCoder, and even many of the free ones surpass it in quality. HC is a good example of that.

And I much prefer ImgBurn for burning image files to disk. It is much better than Nero for dual layer burns for example.

Learn to love complexity, revel in the multitude of choices and the superiority of specific tools for specific tasks.

Or learn to put up with mediocrity from the all-in-one programs.
