WMP 10.5 and RP had no sound when I attempted to play a dvd movie on my computer. However, the sound was fine (on both) when I played a music cd or when I listened to their radio's.

To get it the sound back on WMP 10, I downloaded a utility called "Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility" that told me "The decoder is not compatible with the synchronization feature of WMP. To use WMP 10 to synchronize MPEG-2 encoded cotent (such as .dvr-ms files and some .avi files) to a portable device you must install an updated version of the decoder. Check to see if the vendor has an update of this decoder"....but this "check with the vendor button" didn't work so I went directly to their website but couldn't find an update to the Intervideo decoder software. I then downloaded a 30 day free trial version from nVIDA to see if that helped....and this fixed the sound problem in both WMP 10 and Realplayer.

Is there free software out there that can help fix my problem? I hate to buy nVIDA (or anything else) if I don't have to. It's not like I'm going to watch that many dvd's on my computer. Thanks
