ISO images into One

I have have downloaded Solaris 10 for a friend of mine and I can't seem to get the seperate ISO files in to one. The following instructions come with it but I havent a clue how to do it.

or Windows:
Use the Copy command with the /b flag to copy the files in the
correct order into a single file named "sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso.iso"

copy /b sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-a + sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-b +
sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-c + sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-d +
sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-e sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso.iso

Can someone help? How can I get a single ISO from these files?

Re: ISO images into One

Isn't it just a case of typing that command into the command prompt?

Re: ISO images into One

Which suggests that there was a typo as the copy command is integral to DOS.

Re: ISO images into One

it should be

C:\name of folder\copy /b sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-a + sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-b +
sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-c + sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-d +
sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso-e sol-10-GA-x86-dvd-iso.iso

if that doesnt work take the easy way and download a trial ( 30 day) copy of servant salamander which is easy to use and use it to combine the files.

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...us/ntcmds.mspx

copy /b (source files with + to join them) (destination file)

if no destination is specified, will overwrite first file given.

Re: ISO images into One

The windows command line method of combining the ISOs might not produce a fully useable disc.

Here's a good guide for combing the SUSE CD ISO's:

Not sure if the Solaris CD ISO's are similar...

Re: ISO images into One

I think it mite be best to use something like Simple File Joiner or something of the like to achieve the same results

Re: ISO images into One

Why don't you ......
1) mount the iso's with a virtual drive ..
2) drag & drop files into a folder,
3) repeat for all CD images.

4) Extract the boot sector information from the boot cd (same as for slipstreaming winXP)

5) Create a bootable Data DVD compilation in nero using the extracted boot code & dragging & dropping all the copied files?

Re: ISO images into One

i think it's because this is an ISO which has been split into PARTS so that you don't have to download the whole thing again if it corrupts - it isn't an ISO IMAGE until you assemble the pieces!
