Fax-Classic Phone Tools - Club CDFreaks

Hi,
I do have Ethernet DSL connection, BUT I also need a modem fax. Yes, I mean a 56KFax Puter modem. I have no room for a dedicated fax machine, so I would like to use this PCI fax Modem from US ROBOTICS/BRVP CLASSIC PHONE TOOLS Software.

I only use this utility once or twice a month to request medical records. I would like to receive them as well as send, BUT...After installing the PCI card, and inserting the CD when prompted, it would install up to 97%, then asked me for my WinXP CD….Ummmm, well as (bad) luck would have it, I misplaced the CD, looked EVERYWHERE but can not afford to buy another OS.

A FEW ERROR MESSAGES UPON THE INSTALL >

"WINDOWS\DRIVER CACHE\386\" (I know I have this under C:\WINDOWS Directory)

"NEED PRINTER DRIVER 2000 - SPECIFIED MODULE CAN NOT BE FOUND"

"FAX CAPTURE DRIVER NEEDED"

"C:\ Program Files\Phone tools\remote.tab - SPECIFIED MODULE CAN NOT BE FOUND"

I un-installed the modem driver, I went to the US Robotic driver site, downloaded what I thought was a modem driver.exe file for I think I have WinXP 32Bit SP2, but to avail. Does this mean I can not use this Fax program, without buying another Win XP OS?
Could my registry be messed up to have lost these WinXP files needed for Faxing?

Afford $20 then for this driver/tool.

Mr. Bel. I did use this RKS trial software for a month,it was pretty easy to use,but the same darn problem with the drivers which did not enable me to receive the faxes.

why not use the fax tool from xp? just go to add/remove applications in control panel, then add/remove windows components, tick the fax entry, insert the xp cd, click ok and it installs. it's a quite decent app.

It's not Bad luck you misplaced your WinXP CD, It was your lucky day becasue now you can use Hylafax and it's FREE
