/etc/hosts & networking files - Club CDFreaks

i messed up my /etc/hosts & the networking file which has the ip, subnet, dns entries.

i dont know the correct format of the entries.

if anyone can post thier files, i will be able to correct my settings accordingly

What kinf of netwerk setup are you on? If you can use a DHCP server in your network (e.g. a broadband router), just use "dhclient eth0" and off you go.

Otherwhise, please tell us all the fields you need in the files, so we can help you out

1. /etc/hosts

2. and the 1 networking file (its in /etc/sys???/networking) it has entries for the DNS Server , Gateway and all that.

i will check it out tomm & post back the exact path.
