DVD-lab PRO 2 Help Please

I am using DVD-lab PRO 2 to compile the Cky videos and everything went great except the buttons on the menu seem to vibrate on the screen when played in the DVD player.
Also the volume is way to loud. I turn the TV volume to "1" and it is still so loud that the sound is distorted.
If someone could help me out I would be very grateful. Thank you!

Welcome to CD Freaks.

How did you convert the video file to mpeg2 format for DVDLab to author?

DVD-lab PRO 2 Help Please

The buttons I created for links to the four movies flicker and vibrate. Almost like the menu its self reloads 30 times a second. I used the muxing option when I compiled the movies and it created .mpv files for the movies, .mpa files for the movie sound, and .mp2 for the .wav I used as background music on the main menu.
[Note: Both the sound on the main menu and on the videos as well are far to loud and distorted(from being so loud).]

I am new to making dvd menus and such so I am sure I am just missing something simple but I can not figure what it is.

[Note: I used 100px by 30px .png files as menu buttons that have transparency. They work just fine on the DVD-lab PRO 2 program but when I mount the .iso they vibrate and flicker. Maybe the .png files are the problem? Oh and the .png button transparency is evident on the menu so the buttons work and all they just won't stay still.]

(*Edit* Ohh, I used "TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress" to convert the .avi files to DVD format then I used DVD-lab PRO 2 to compile the DVDs. Two total convertions from the original .avi files that I had to begin with. *Edit*)

Thank you very much for helping me,

OK, this is how I was successful in getting the correct audio level on my DVD.

1) Extract AVI audio to WAV using Xilisoft Video to Audio Converter v3.1 (only $25, worked like a charm!).
2) Adjust amplitude in Adobe Audition 1.5 to -10db max (thanks widegoat!). Save WAV.
3) Encode WAV -> AC3 using Xilisoft VAC. I wish Xilisoft VAC had amplitude adjustment icon_wink.gif
4) Import AC3 to DLP2.0, compile project.

Thank you everyone for the help and support. I finally completed my project!

Regards,
John
After an exhaustive search I finally found some information on google.com from a year ago. My problem is solved so I hope anyone with the same difficulties finds this to be helpful!

Just for knowledge here is why there is a problem to begin with.

Broadcast video (and as such most Hollywood mixdowns) peaks at -12db* and DV audio peaks at 0db. If you normalise to 100% - you effectively create an audio stream that peaks at 0db - which sounds much louder than perhaps you are used to hearing. Some rubbish DVD players clip (this means distort) anything above -12db* unless you "turn down" their internal amplification through either an on-screen menu or volume button on their remote control. It is for this reason I think that most commercially released titles appear to peak unnaturally low.

*Might be -10db I can never remember.
*ATTN* I still need help with the flickering buttons though. I will be looking myself but if anyone knows the solution I would appreciate it.
