I'm not sure if there is a bug with DVD *.nrg image files created with Nero v6.6.0.18. When I try to mount a DVD image file using Daemon Tools v4.03 I get an error message telling me that it's an invalid image file. However when I create a DVD *.nrg image file using UltraISO v7.6.5.1250 then Daemon Tools mounts the image file without any problems. I don't seem to have this problem when mounting CD *.nrg image files. What could be the Problem?! Does the same thing happen when creating a DVD *.nrg image file with Nero 7?

Well if it works with UltraISO just keep using it and forget about Nero and trying to make a Image file with it. As for Nero 7 well it’s just been released not long ago and its that buggy it’s even having problems trying to burn normal data DVD’s so I don’t like your chances trying to make a image file with it. By the year 2200 they should have some of the bugs fixed.

Let Nero produce ISO files rather than NRGs. You might get better results.

Okay there are 2 ways of creating *.nrg image files but only one method that I created actually can be mounted using Daemon Tools.

The method that didn't work in mounting a *.nrg DVD image file:

1. Open Nero Burning ROM
2. Click on Extras and select Save Tracks then select the DVD drive you wish to create a *.nrg DVD image

The method that did work in mounting a *.nrg DVD image:

1. Open Nero Express
2. Select Image Recorder [DVD]
3. Click on Copy Entire Disc

Make sure that the Source drive is the DVD drive and the Destination drive is the Image Recorder [DVD] then click on Copy. It's kind of strange that both image files give the same number of bytes but only one can be mounted.
