ASPI problem ?? ( with nero info tool )

I have Samsung 232b burner ( 32x10x40 ) and after I formatted my pc and installed WinXP Pro i have not been able to burn at maximum speed.. before installing the winxp i had the win98se , and i could burn 700mb in 3:25min ( aproximately ).. and now it takes 5:20min ( with nero and alcohol - with alcohol i cant go over 20x) burning 700mb.... what´s wrong here ?
At the beggining nero was not able to burn any cd a nero info tool said that aspy drivers were corrupted ( or something like that ).. so i installed the lastest ASPI layer ( i get it from adaptec ) and since then Nero Info Tool can´t initialize and, i have already said, i take more time to burn the cd´s..
in the other hand, now i can make an image (with alcohol ) of 700mb in 2 minutes.. and with win98se it took for about 4 minutes... this is realy strange.. i dont know what to do... does anybody has an idea ??
P.S. - sorry my bad english..

im not sure about the specifics, but nero uses its own aspi. wnaspi32 or something? there have been several posts about it in the past - it may help solve your problem?

1. Control Panel > Adm Tools > Services > disable IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service

2. If you want Nero Info Tool to be enabled for you, goto :

Alcohol > Options > Emulation > disable/uncheck the Ignore Media Type box there.

Good luck !
