Re: Any Pc Cillin uses here

Hey Dana!
I've used it about 5 or 6 times (the online download), to clean virus's off of peoples pc's. I ususally run a couple of different brand virus scans and then SpybotSearch and Destroy, and Adaware Personal Addition. There have been a few times, that Pc Cillin caught viruses the others missed. Personally, I have used Mcafee Security Suite (hated it), Norton (hated it), CA Internet Security Suite (mediocre) and on my newest Vista system, I have the whole Trend Micro Security Suite. I can't even tell it is there. Not sure how much of that is due to the new C2D system, and how much is software, but so far, I really like Trend. No problems connecting my home network, or with my son hooking up to xbox live via my network.

I have been using Pc Cillin for more than 5 years now on my home and work machine. Only think I can say is it is good. Does not slow down computer and updates come at least twice a week, download is very fast.
Not like Norton, making mess out of the system.

i don't think thats too good, i use bitdefender and you can set to update every hour if you want, virus updates come as you need them, not stored up untill the update time. just my 2cents.

Re: Any Pc Cillin uses here

I have used quite a few and found NOD32 to be outstanding and lite on resources and is still in use on some of my XP machines, I have never gotten a Virus in years.

Currently with Vista on X86 and x64 machines I am using Avast Free, it's working very well and it's not a resource hog.

I am talking about virus definition updates, not software.
May be I should have been more specific.

Re: Any Pc Cillin uses here

been using trend for years, great prog. latest ver comes with spyware protection. updates 2 sometimes 3 times a day. virus files that is. scaning takes a little longer with the spyware than it did with the last version.

Re: Any Pc Cillin uses here

I was using Kaspersky Internet Security and every so often run ewido_micro.exe, and Ad-Aware 2007, every day, which found a few infections that Kaspersky completely missed. I'm back to Nod32 but won't stop ads. which Kaspersky did stop, specially those XXX ones. For firewall I'm using Comodo. Both, Comodo and Nod32 I read reviews that showed them as No 1, but still not convinced.

I have never seen an antivirus that can detect and stop each and every virus. You have to run at least four or five from time to time to clean your system. And that is not guaranteed.
