| Age of Mythology I am having similar problems that I am trying to diagnose. Here are my Specs: Windows XP Pro(all updates done fresh install) Asus A7N8x Deluxe (Latest chipset drivers from Nvidia's Site) AMD 3200 w/ 400mhz FSB 1gig Corsair PC3200 Twin Bank Mem ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 (3.7 Cataysts) WD 120 Gig 8mb HD Maxtor 120 Gig Serial ATA HD Creative SB Audigy Onboard Realtek NIC Here are my thoughts that are causing the crash to the desktop but I cannot verify until further testing: * I have a USB KVM switch that I believe could be causing the problems. This connects the mouse and keyboard into one USB port on the PC. Testing I will try a PS/2 keyboard and USB mouse next * Maxtor Serial ATA Hard Drive mixed with IDE hard drive. I will disable the Serial ATA hard drive seeing how this is not the primary drive * Replace the ATI 9800 Pro video card

| usually games crashing to desktop I have found more times than anything ... update drivers for video card ..and if stil same thing ..try older ones ... sound cards .... try disable sound or taking sound card completely out or updating drivers memory ... every now and then been memory or you can just borrow friends video card .... sound card ..etc. .. but always read the readme files .. for games ..sometimes they have clues to problems like that or some little patch you need ...

| Video Card I have run the game fine after swapping the Video Card for a Geforce 4 440mx and going off of the KVM switch. I am going to try tonight to see if I can play with the KVM and ATI. If all goes well this will at least tell me it is the Serial ATA hard drive that is causing the problems. I have run 3dmark2001 on my machine with a 7 loop series with no lockups and get a score of 17896 so I cannot believe that it is the ATI card. It has to be the USB KVM or the serial. Only time will tell.
