Adding Multiple Email Addresses into Outlook

Is there a way to add multiple addresses into a "distribution list" in Outlook (2007) without manually creating a contact for each address first. Basically i have a word document, filled with a ton of addresses that i need to send out, but i cant seem to create a distribution list with anything BUT my current contacts list? Is this possible to do with inputting these manually one by one? thanks in advance!

Re: Adding Multiple Email Addresses into Outlook

It's been ages since I've done these kinds of things (export/import and/or have a spreadsheet open a word document) so I am rusty. Also, I have no idea what your word processing document looks like (e.g. are the addresses tab delimited as oppossed to aligned with the spacebar). Still, you haven't had a response so I'll suggest the following:

In Outlook, open the address book and create a new distribution list. Then, select add new member. Line-up your word document next to your new distribution list and copy/paste the new member's name and address. If you have approximately 300 addresses, this should not take that long using copy/paste.

Best Wishes

Re: Adding Multiple Email Addresses into Outlook

Hi,
I have had the same experience and have spent the last few hours trawling the web for an answer.
Guess what? I found it
It's a small add in for MapiLAB
Visit http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/toolbox/

I have installed this and it does the job very well, as well as quite a few other options. In GBP it is only £16 so to me well worth the price for the time it saved and I will be using it again and again as I export website captured email addresses from MySQL into a comma delimited file and then use the above to import them into a new Distribution List.
Much easier than copy / paste or typing them all in.
Hope this helps
Regards
Mick
