Clone CD Discuss, Slow burn with v4 and Plextor 241040a at Burning Software forum; I installed version 4 over my 3.3.4.1. Everything looked good. Ripped a CD that had Safedisk 2 on it and everything was fine. Then it was burn time...problem! CCD 4 rated the burn speed of my Plex 241040a at 8X and took 16 minutes to burn

Slow burn with v4 and Plextor 241040a

I installed version 4 over my 3.3.4.1. Everything looked good. Ripped a CD that had Safedisk 2 on it and everything was fine. Then it was burn time...problem! CCD 4 rated the burn speed of my Plex 241040a at 8X and took 16 minutes to burn the CD. Then I went back and checked the settings. Burn speed set to MAX, yet burn speed 8X. With 3.3.4.1, I used to get the zone burning of 16, 20, and 24. Gone now. Any suggestions or ideas...Would be most appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Bob

You can change the burn speed upto 48x. When you burn choose, for example game, and right clik and chose edit. Now you can change the burning speed. By the way default is 8x I just burned Army Man (sd 2.51.52) at 24 speed from Plextor 24/10/40a and had no problem playing from regular cd-rom

Think guys! Think! It's very intuitive; if in doubt, right click!

Hmm, OK, I think I know what the different speed settings are all about:

"Read Speed Audio" is actually the maximum speed that your reader can go, while "Audio Extraction Quality" is the speed that you want.

"Write Speed" is the maximum speed that your burner can go, while "Write Speed (in the profile)" is the speed that you want.

So even if you have max for "Read Speed Audio" and "Write Speed", if you have "Best (slowest)" for "Audio Extraction Quality" and 1x for "Write Speed (in the profile)", you'll get 2x for audio and 1x for write -- not the max speed that your reader/burner can go.

I'm not sure if this is correct, but from fooling around with different speed settings for Clone 4, this is what I came up with.
