Sims 2 / CloneCD Problem! Help???! Can anyone in their powerful wisdom advise me on some problems im experiencing using clonecd to burn the sims 2 game? The problem i have is that in the main file i have aquired there are 4 files it seems to each disc(4 discs): cue file, ccd file, img file & sub file I have wasted a few cds already trying endlessly to create a disc for playing but to no avail! I began by doing the usual and burning the cue file assuming all other files would follow but apparantly not. also when browsing at the content of one of the discs' info it seems there is a compressed file - would this be the problem or am I missing something? once again thanks for your help

Re: Sims 2 / CloneCD Problem! Help???! Also SIMS I need some help for something I don't understand. I copied SIMS Deluxe Edition for my daughter (2 CDs), I installed the game by using the copy, but when I tried to run it (use CD #1 in the drive) it didn't recognise the CD. It still runs but only with the original CD #1. I used Clone CD (version 5.2.6.1) and Plextor PX-712A (rev. 1.05). Please, help. I don't know what's going on. Thanks, Mabelle

Re: Sims 2 / CloneCD Problem! Help???! I just copied another thread that helped me to successfully copy SIMS DeLuxe. Do it exactly as mentioned bellow: ----------------------------------- Download the Trial version of the latest Alcohol 120 <http://www.cdfreaks.com/software/6>% and install. Do following when main screen loads: File Menu, select Options, then Expand General, click Data Type setting, then click Disc Type (default Audio CD) and select SafeDisc 2/3 instead, then Click RecordingOptions and check to see if Bypass EFM Error is enabled (by default it should be). If not, enable it then click OK. keep all other default settings. Minimise Alcohol window. Insert your original Sims Disc One into your CD Rom drive. When The Sims loads with welcome screen, leave it. Don't play it or exit from it. Just leave it sitting on the Desktop. Maximise the Alcohol window Click Image making wizard Read Speed should say maximise and at the bottom left side the Datatype should say SafeDisc 2/3. If not, select it. Then click next. This next window allows you to choose a different location for your image file and/or change the image name. Personally, I didn't bother. I just went ahead and clicked START with the details it inserted for me. The log window will list the blocks of data it is reading and on most of them you will see 'Disc read error' while the dumping procedure is in operation. Doesn't matter. When the Image has finnished being made, the original Sims disc will eject automatically and you will hear a finale tune. (this is part of the default settings in Alcohol). Minimise Alcohol window. Do not exit. Remove The Sims CD. Insert a Blank CD-Recordable disc in your CD-RW drive. Windows may prompt you for an action with the blank disc. Just close the dialogue box. Maximise the main Alcohol window, The Sims Deluxe Image is shown highlighted. If not, highlight it. Then click Image Burning Wizard. This will show 'Welcome to the Image Burning Wizard' screen. Select the Image file you would like to record. By default, this ALREADY HAS THE LAST IMAGE FILE YOU RECORDED in it which in this case is the Sims Deluxe CD 1. So just click next. This will show 'Prepare your CD/DVD Recorder' screen. Keep everything as it is. Make sure Datatype on bottom left of screen says SafeDisc 2/3 and Bypass EFM error is checked. If not select both. (These are required for writing as well as reading the protected disc.) It will show the 'recording procedure progresss bar' 1%, 2% and so on. At the bottom it will show your device and its current status as 'Recording..'. On completion it will show a message box, 'All recording procedures have been completed'. Then just click ok. And your perfect copy of the Sims Deluxe CD1 will eject. Im a newbie at all of this and this is my first post. I found that this procedure worked also for CD2 and the Makin Magic. If it worked for you, please let me know if you were successful so that this post wasn't a complete waste of time. for those in the US, read this regarding 'Bypass EFM' <http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread/t-64306.html>
