I 2 am having problems making a backup of sims2 dvd, tried all types of software with no luck, & as for clone V5 it 2 will no make a working backup, done the backup work on my PC & tried 2 play on the kids PC which sims2 was installed on with no buring software at all on it, no luck.

You cannot make a working backup of the DVD.
CloneCD is useless for safedisc 3/4 protected games in any case.

You can make a working backup of the DVD, as long as you use emulation, and check "Hide CDR Media" in the CloneCd system tray. I also made working backups of Doom III and other SD 3 proctected Cds using CloneCd. It's a matter of what hardware you have, the profile you use, and whether or not you want to use the "Hide CDR Media" function of CloneCd.

What reader and writer do you use, such that you claim will back up Sims 2 (Safedisk 3.2) WITHOUT emulation? I assume this means you run the back up in YOUR pc with all emulation options in Alcohol TURNED OFF? Is this correct?

i could make a image with clonecd and install & play very well if i used in a virtual drive, but i wnat to burn the image and i used the same configuration and the cd doesnt work

I've never had much use for virtual drives. Offhand, I'd say just having it installed is a problem. But then again, that's me.
I can say with all certainty that you can make a back up the DVD version of the Sims 2 and University using the CloneCd 5.x profile I posted and a liteon LTD 163d as the reader, and a Nec 3500A as the burner. Doom III and Far Cry (Cd versions) also can be backed up using the LTD 163D and a Liteon 52246s CdRw with this profile. I don't have any virtual devices installed. Just CloneCd, CloneDVD, AnyDVD, Fireburner, and DiscJuggler on Windows XP Pro. Zero percent Alcohol.
I don't have the Cd version of the Sims 2, so I can't say that you will be as successful with it as I was with the DVD version.

As I understand what you are writing, you say that some burners can handle newer safedisc protections with Alcohol, that will not work with CloneCD.
I can't even make a working backup of SafeDisk 2.9 and above with CloneCD! Will Alcohol work for me?

Your Sony RW CRX175A1 is a re-badged Lite-on LTR-24102B and I'm afraid that the answer is no. That writer simply can't handle sd 2.9+.

I suggest that you try CloneCD using the emulate weak sectors option. That should at least work if you have CloneCD on the system with hide cdr media activated.

Hi,
Does someone know how to make a dvd of the sims 2 with all 4 cds?
I have all 4 cds and I wanna know how to make them be on one dvd (but fully working); I put everything into the same folder, I took all the compressed files into one, but the setup doesn't install the files from the dvd.
Help me please!!
