There's no such thing as enabling DMA automatically by a program. Check your Windows device manager to see if the drives are using DMA or not. If so then check the settings you're using with CloneCD. It could be that you overlooked some setting so the Plextor is reading slowly. Have you tried to just drag&drop the contents of the disc to your hard disk? Is the Plextor slower now too?

my plexwriter is my master drive.
my liteon is my slave drive.

primary ide channel = device 0
device type ----- auto detection (greyd out)
transfer mode----- Dma if available
current transfer mode- ultra Dma 5

device 1
device type----- auto detection
transfer mode--- Dma if available
curren transfer mode- not applicable

secondary ide channel= device 0
device type----- auto detection (greyd out)
transfer mode---Dma if available
current transfer mode-Ultra Dma 2

device 1
device type----- auto detection (greyd out)
transfer mode---Dma if available
current transfer mode- Ultra Dma mode 2

as far as clone cd, the read speed is also set to max im a little confused on the device 0 and 1 though, I only have 2 cd rws one would be the primary and one would be the secondary soo what is the device 0 and 1 for each that would be 4 right?
