Re: Problem with Rosetta Stone Program

Can you give a screen shot of what the disc should look like?

The hook up

i think youve got to name the disk like FAR_LEV1. here's a screen shot (i only had my mac with me.

Note the name of the disk. Italian level 1 and 2. If you only have level one of Farsi, you would put FAR_LEV1 as the disk name.

The naming of the folders is important too for the hierarchy of the database inside rosetta stone. Just check to see that your folders are named this way. There are some rosetta stone files in there as you can see.

This is about the best i can do for you. If you name this disk in this way, and have rosetta stone on the computer you should be fine.

GOOD luck....

Re: Problem with Rosetta Stone Program

A big problem I ran into was that I didn't have the CATMPC file for the Farsi. Don't know what to do without it.

Re: Problem with Rosetta Stone Program

can someone post their three TRS files? I can't figure out what they need to say to get Rosetta Stone to recognize the disk. I successfully backed up my Arabic disks but I can't figure out the Farsi disks.

Re: Problem with Rosetta Stone Program

I think this comes down to the CATMPC file. When I start up RS it says "Error Parsing CATMPC, Cannot recognize "Farsi" "

What the hell SHOULD it be called then?

Re: Problem with Rosetta Stone Program

I have the Spanish Level 1 ( v 2.3.5.2 ASMS ) Rosetta Stone program, both the application disk, and the language disk. I wanted to make a backup of the language disk to use on my laptop. I have tried all methods shown above, all coasters. Is there no easy way to do this?

Re: Problem with Rosetta Stone Program

My recollection is that notwithstanding what some people have posted recent versions of this program are safedisc v.4.x protected. This means that the ability to make a working emulation-free physical back-up copy is very much hardware dependant (i.e. only a few reader/writer combinations can do so.

Look here for further information on this issue.

If, like most people, your hardware isn't up to the task, check out kalas' guide here.

Re: Problem with Rosetta Stone Program

Problem is that the first link doesn't include any attempts on anything related to Rosetta Stone, unfortunately--all are about Battlefield, sims, sims2, Prince of Persia, so none of them specifically addresses a success/failure with any version of Rosetta Stone. However, it appears the best thing to do is to follow Philamber's link to kala's guide for trying to successfully backup Rosetta Stone titles here.
