Playing GTA 3 back up from burner without hide cdr - Club CDFreaks

Hi,

I made a back up GTA 3. I am able to play it from my 52-24-52 without Hide cdr media enabled. In fact the clone cd tray isnt even loaded. Earlier I tested the cd on my other box which has a plextor 24/10/32 and in order for the game to start I had to have Hide cd-r media enabled.

What is going on here?

Did you or did you have Alcohol 120% installed on your machine? It hides the CD-R media without even being loaded (its hide thing is runing in the background all the time I believe).

Yes that was it. I uninstalled Alcohol 120% and now I am being asked to insert the real cd when I try to play from the burner.

Does alcohol do anyother emulation that I should be aware of? I hear it can make back ups of the latest safedisk. I wonder if they work after alcohol is uninstalled.

Alcohol copies of safedisc 2.8 do not require alcohol to be installed on the system to work.

back when i intalled the official patch of gta3 to make it gta3 1.1, the patch they released removed the ATIP check. i thought it was funny they messed up. Oh well, it was to my benefit.

Doesn't having any feature that hides ATIP info a hazard when you are copying something? I mean, if alcohol always has it running in the background, why do copies work?

Alcohol does more stuff than any other app without you knowing
